It's been about a year since AS, and I was intending on doing this much earlier.
Agent Scarecrow 1 was the first project I wrote for. The dialog and such I wrote, but the voice acting, puzzles, and plot line are all Johnny's. As far as the dialog goes, what did you think of it? It's very cheesy to me, because I wrote it all so long ago when I was younger. Almost two years ago, actually. I've been working on other stuff lately, as well as contributing to various websites, and I believe I have greatly improved as far as dialog goes. Still, I am very interested to see what you all thought of my first effort.
Dialog-wise, I thought it was okay. What really concerned me was the voice acting put into the dialog. I didn't think the voice actor brought out enough of the words that I was hoping it would display. Say for instance.
"Okay, I'm not average. Maybe I'm below average."
I thought...that thought the voice actor added his own personality into the character, I felt disconnected. The meaning of your dialog was recognized...but maybe if you rephrase some bits it would sound less cheezier to you? I'm sure that since Johnny worked with you to be a dialog person, you must have some talent. Keep working.
So far, it's good, although we don't get to figure out much of the script. It leaves many mysteries unsolved (Peter's involvement in all this, what's going to happen, who were those people that attacked Mike, etc.) - and that's GOOD, actually.
The only problem is that AS#1 is quite short, but since there are going to be more episodes (how many episodes do you guys plan on dividing the story in, by the way?), it's not really a problem.
However, I liked the choices we can make: fight or shoot? Kat or Jim? And it's even cooler that it ends making us choose what telephone number to get and showing the chosen number interfere in the way the second episode follows. I'm already waiting for the sequel!

Yeah... except that I want to raise caution about rapid conclusions that could be drawn from my message saying that the game will be completed soon. Several things need to be done after a game is completed and before it can be published, including (but not limited to) 1) beta-testing the game with the testers 2) collecting comments and modifying the game accordingly 3) creating webpages to display the game 4) updating old webpages with the necessary links 5) briefing the Marketing Department at Johnnybdesign
Ok Ok, I made up #5. You all know I don't have a Marketing Dept.
I am not saying that this game will be delayed for ages... I just want to damp your eagerness and avoid disappointments. I am currently working hard, really hard on the Scarecrow series and want this to be done soon.
One last word about the non-existence of the Marketing Dept. : Of course, you all know that I can't afford one.... since I used all my money to hire personal masseuses and a lifetime supply of Godiva chocolate ice cream. yeah that's riiiiiight! Godiva ice cream. I am eating some at the moment and I munch much fink ish ish absome much much glup...
I liked it. It was not overly done. Good humor too. I felt like I was actually in the house about 30 min in the movie. Not as scary as hyped up to be, but overall, I was moved a bit and that takes quite a bit for a scary movie to do.
